Heat dissipation of LED street lights
Leave a message
The heat dissipation methods of LED street lights mainly include the following:
Natural convection heat dissipation: The use of LED street light body structure design, such as increasing the heat dissipation area, the use of heat dissipation fins, through the natural flow of air to take away heat. This method is simple and economical, but the heat dissipation efficiency is limited by environmental conditions.
Install a fan for forced heat dissipation: The built-in fan increases the air flow speed, forcing the hot air to be discharged quickly, and improving the heat dissipation efficiency. However, this approach is complex, may reduce reliability, and requires maintenance.
Heat pipe heat dissipation: Using the efficient heat transfer characteristics of heat pipes, the heat generated by the LED chip is quickly transferred to other parts of the radiator, and then distributed through the radiator. This method costs more, but the heat dissipation effect is good.
Loop heat pipe heat dissipation: similar to heat pipe heat dissipation, but designed as a closed circulation system, can more efficiently dissipate heat away from the heat source, suitable for space limited or need higher heat dissipation efficiency.
Uniform temperature plate heat dissipation: Use a uniform temperature plate (usually copper or copper alloy) to evenly distribute the temperature of the heat source, and then heat dissipation through a large area of the plate surface to improve the uniformity and efficiency of heat dissipation.
Passive heat dissipation: a broad term that usually refers to a heat dissipation method that does not rely on external forces, including natural convection and uniform temperature plate heat dissipation, etc., focusing on the design of the physical structure of the lamp to promote heat exchange.
Active heat dissipation: including fan heat dissipation and water cooling systems, etc., increase the heat exchange rate through external power, suitable for high-power LED street lights, but may increase maintenance costs and complexity.
Composite heat dissipation technology: Combine the above multiple heat dissipation methods, such as the combination of heat pipes and heat sinks, or the combination of fans and natural convection, to achieve better heat dissipation.
Each heat dissipation method has its advantages and disadvantages, and the choice should consider the power of LED street lights, the use of environment, cost budget and maintenance convenience and other factors.
