How to check the panel wiring when maintaining solar street lights?

When maintaining solar street lights, check the panel wiring as follows:

Safe power off: First of all, ensure safety, disconnect the power supply of the solar street lamp system, and avoid operating under live conditions.

Visual inspection: Carefully look at the wiring of the panel for obvious damage, such as exposed wires, signs of wear, corrosion or breakage.

Fastness of connection: Check that the cable between the panel and the rest of the system (such as the controller) is tight and not loose. Loose wiring may result in poor contact and affect power generation efficiency.

Polarity confirmation: Use the DC voltage gear of the multimeter to gently touch the positive and negative wiring of the panel to confirm that the voltage is displayed correctly to verify that the polarity is correctly connected. If the positive and negative terminals are reversed, the system may not work properly or even damage components.

Insulation test: You can use the insulation resistance tester to check the insulation performance of the wiring to ensure that there is no leakage.

Waterproof inspection: Ensure that the waterproof treatment at the wiring is good, especially in the case of outdoor installation, to prevent water intrusion and short circuit.

Record and mark: If there is a problem with the wiring, it should be marked and adjusted or replaced in time. At the same time, record the inspection results so that you can track maintenance history.

Reconnect and test: After completing the inspection and necessary repairs, reconnect the wiring, and restart the system under safe conditions to observe whether the solar street lights work properly.

Through these meticulous steps, you can effectively ensure that the wiring of the solar panel is in good condition, thus ensuring the stable operation of the entire solar street lamp system.
