What are the effects of direct-view floodlights?

Looking directly into a floodlight can have a variety of effects on the eyes, including eye strain, loss of vision, and damage to the cornea and retina.

1. Eye fatigue: Looking directly at the floodlights will cause the eyes to be in a state of high tension for a long time, which is easy to cause fatigue of the muscles around the eyes, and at the same time, the strong light will speed up the evaporation of tears and increase the burden on the tear glands, resulting in dry eyes, pain and fatigue.

2. Vision loss: Looking directly at the floodlights for a long time will lead to vision loss and blurred vision. This loss of vision may be transient, but may be exacerbated and lead to longer term vision problems if stimulated by bright light on a continuous basis

3. Corneal and retinal damage: Bright light exposure from floodlights may cause damage to the cornea and retina, which manifests itself in the form of eye swelling, pain, photophobia, and tearing. In severe cases, it may lead to retinal burns and even blindness

4. Macular damage: UV and blue light from floodlights may directly damage the macula, affecting central vision. The macula is the area of the eye with the sharpest vision, and damage is difficult to recover from and has a significant impact on vision

5. Cataracts: Looking directly into a floodlight for a long period of time increases the risk of cataracts, as the intense light penetrates the retina and causes clouding of the lens, which in turn affects vision.
