What specific electrical accessories are needed for double-head wall lamps to achieve multi-control functions?

To achieve the multi-control function of a double-headed wall lamp, that is, to control the same lamp from two or more positions, you need to use specific electrical accessories and the correct wiring method. Traditionally, this has often involved the use of dual-controlled switches (single-pole double-throw switches, SPDTS) or, in some cases, through intelligent switching systems.

Traditional dual-control or multi-control configuration:

Dual control switch: Each control point needs to install a dual control switch. When wiring, it is necessary to ensure that the L1 terminals of all dual control switches are connected to each other, the L2 terminals are also connected to each other, and the L end of each switch is connected to the live wire of the power supply and the live wire end of the lamp. The neutral line is directly connected to the lamp from the power supply and does not participate in the multi-control wiring.

Mid-way switch (if extended to more than two control points) : In a multi-control line, if control points need to be added at additional locations, a mid-way switch can be used, which is similar to a dual-control switch but has more terminals to accommodate the needs of multi-point control.

Intelligent switching system:

For smart home systems, such as using Xiaoyan wall switches or other smart switch brands, there is no need for traditional dual control switches. Each smart switch is controlled wirelessly to the smart home hub or directly through the App. When setting up, through the automated setting of the smart home system, the function of controlling the same lamp from different locations can be easily achieved without complex physical wiring changes.

When making any electrical modifications, it is highly recommended that they be operated by a professional electrician to ensure safety compliance and avoid the risk of electrical fire or shock. The configuration of intelligent systems is usually intuitive, but it is best to refer to the product manual or seek professional guidance for the initial setup.
